Closing another Chapter of my Life

About two months ago my ex re-entered my life. My former greatest temptation, I was not surprised by it because the signs were there. My pastor randomly described and prophesied his resurfacing during a bible study service "S-curl looking light skin pretty boy will not last past June." He is light skin and has curly hair, however it's not an s-curl and our communications really did not last past June. It took his reappearing for me to finally learn the lesson of what it means to be a priority versus an option in someone's life.
See we had ended our relationship on very bad terms, three years ago. So bad that every attempt he had previously made to contact me, I had ignored. However this time for some reason because I had a strong desire for closure I allowed him in. To make a very long story short, I learned that when God closes a chapter of your life it needs to remain closed. Certain people are placed in your life for specific reasons alone and when that reason that purpose has been fulfilled you have to let them go. I deserve and desire to be more than someone's option. I am not an option to God nor is he to me. I am a priority and any person that cannot respect that I do not need in my inner circle.
2 Corinthians 10:2-6 (Amplified Bible)
2I entreat you when I do come [to you] that I may not [be driven to such] boldness as I intend to show toward those few who suspect us of acting according to the flesh [on the low level of worldly motives and as if invested with only human powers].
3For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.
4For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,
5[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),
6Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.
